Our commitment

Prescott’s Family Law is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Current conformance status: Substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

What we have done

  • Semantic HTML with landmarks, ordered headings and a skip-to-content link.
  • Full keyboard operability, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
  • Text and interface colours checked for contrast against their backgrounds.
  • Text that reflows without loss of content down to a 320 px viewport and up to 200% zoom.
  • Form fields with associated labels, hints and clearly announced error messages.
  • Accordions and menus built as accessible disclosure controls with correct ARIA state.
  • Motion limited to small transitions, and respect for the operating system’s reduced-motion preference.
  • Meaningful alternative text on images; decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.

Known limitations

  • All photography carries descriptive alternative text; decorative elements are hidden from assistive tools.
  • Practice guides are published directly as accessible semantic web pages to ensure full compatibility with screen readers.
  • Any third-party embed added later (map, video, chat) must be tested separately; these are the most common source of accessibility failures on law firm sites.
  • Third-party document viewers and legacy scanned PDF records are remediated upon client request.

How this was assessed

Assessment approach: Evaluated using automated accessibility testing tools and manual screen-reader audits across all primary user pathways and intake forms.
